Hon Darren Chester MP was elected to Federal Parliament in 2008 as Member for Gippsland.
​
A keen marathon runner, dog-lover, and outdoors enthusiast, Darren enjoys boating, fishing and bushwalking.
During his time in Parliament, Darren has served in multiple executive positions across Government and Opposition including senior Ministerial roles.
​
Prior to entering Parliament, Darren worked as a newspaper and television journalist, ran his own marketing business and was executive officer of a regional advocacy group. His formal political experience included four years as Chief of Staff to the Leader of The Nationals in Victoria where he developed a range of regional policies.

Robert first met Darren when he visited Parliament in Canberra, for funding for the Euroa PTSD Wellness Centre.
